Care notes

Also called 'Panda Dwarf Cichlid' — black-and-white females contrast with colorful males. Females are the dominant sex and control spawning territory. Requires very soft, acidic water (blackwater conditions). Cave spawner with intensive maternal care. A challenging but rewarding specialty species. Sensitive to water quality.

Check the whole aquarium. Tank size alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm adult size, water overlap, social grouping, territory, diet, and the individual animals before stocking.
