Three bold horizontal black stripes give this species its name. Males display vivid blue-green with red in fins; females yellow when breeding. One of the more challenging Apistogramma — needs very soft acidic water. Cave spawner. Sensitive to water quality — not ideal for beginners. Beautiful biotope fish.
