Care notes

One of the most underrated saltwater fish. Stunning purple-blue with orange bands. Simultaneous hermaphrodite — each fish has both male and female organs, trading roles during spawning. Hardy, peaceful, reef-safe, eats prepared foods readily, and stays small. Ideal for beginners. Can be kept in pairs or trios.

Check the whole aquarium. Tank size alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm adult size, water overlap, social grouping, territory, diet, and the individual animals before stocking.
