Care notes

One of the oldest tetra species in the hobby — in aquariums since the 1920s. Front half silverish; rear half brilliant flame-red with black-tipped fins. Hardy, easy to breed, and great for beginners. Best in schools of 6+.

Check the whole aquarium. Tank size alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm adult size, water overlap, social grouping, territory, diet, and the individual animals before stocking.
