Care notes

Australia's largest freshwater fish — one of the largest freshwater fish in the world. Apex ambush predator with a massive mouth capable of swallowing fish nearly its own size. Cool-water species; will not thrive in tropical tanks. Long-lived (50+ years). Legal to keep in some Australian states; check regulations.
