Care notes
Elongated cylindrical body (hence the name) with bold dark and light banding. Cave-spawner with strong pair bond. Both parents defend territory aggressively — can be hard on tankmates. Best as a breeding pair in a species or Tanganyika-only tank. Fascinating to watch as parents care for fry.
Check the whole aquarium. Tank size alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm adult size, water overlap, social grouping, territory, diet, and the individual animals before stocking.
