Also called 'Blue Neon Cichlid' — males display an iridescent neon-blue lateral stripe. Schools in open water above rocky substrate. One of the more peaceful Tanganyika cichlids. Mouthbrooder. Best kept in a group of 6+ with ratio of more females. Unique schooling behavior unusual for Tanganyika cichlids.
